Donations of cat litter, cleaning supplies, and donations are needed. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to donate supplies you can call 919-774-9433 and set up an appointment or you are welcome to visit the shelter Saturdays between the hours of 10am and 2pm. We cannot do this without your help. We desperately need committed volunteers willing to work a variety of jobs. Please contact us if you would like to help. Even one day a month would be wonderful! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up as a volunteer with us!
Who We Are
The Mission of Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption is to promote and provide responsible care and treatment of all animals. CARA is an independent non-profit organization that provides shelter and care to domestic companion animals until we can find them loving responsible homes, or reunite lost pets with their guardians. We are dedicated to forming relationships with other animal welfare agencies in order to create life-saving options for the homeless, abandoned, and displaced animals. We are volunteer ran and operated, and appreciate donations of any kind! :-)

-Spay or neuter -DHLPPC vaccine(s) -Bordetella vaccine -Rabies vaccine (Given to puppies if 12 weeks or older when spayed or neutered) -Heartworm
testing
-General deworming -Heartworm preventative -Flea and tick preventative -Honorary CARA membership -Free subscription to our newsletter -Medical expenses required if animal was unhealthy when rescued |
-Spay or neuter -FVRCP vaccine(s) -Rabies vaccine (Given to kittens if 12 weeks or older when spayed or neutered) -FeLV/FIV testing

** Please ensure the shelter you adopt your new family member from has a current inspection and license on file with the state the shelter resides therin. CARA is fully licensed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and proudly displays our inspection certificate. Many small non profit shelters just like CARA work very hard to ensure the animals within the shelters care are taken care of, however there are some large shelters that do not.
